Everyone who needs safeguarding training should take the appropriate "Standard" course. People with management responsibility for safeguarding should also take the appropriate "Leading on" course. See this page for a more detailed explanation.

Taking typically around one hour to complete, course progress is continually saved so learners can dip in and out of the training, as and when it is convenient.
Each course comprises a number of units and a final assessment test which must be passed in order to complete the course and gain a certificate. All quizzes and the assessment test can be taken as many times as required, but the questions will be different each time.
All of SAFEcic's online courses are valid for two years and include use of SAFEcic's comprehensive and easy to use Online Training Management System.
SAFEcic can also supply equivalent courses in SCORM format for use on other learning management systems (please contact us for more information).
The SAFEcic Training Management System can be used to add new users, register them on courses, place them in groups, edit their groups, track their progress, check training expiry dates and download copies of training certificates. Current training reports (Excel) for the whole organisation can be downloaded for HR training records and for input to other LMSs. Alternatively SAFEcic will perform any of these tasks, by request, free of charge.

All SAFEcic online courses meet or exceed Ofsted, CQC, Charity Commission, local Safeguarding Partnership and Board requirements. They also meet the educational criteria required for verifiable Continuing Professional Development under the General Dental Council Lifelong Learning Scheme (Dental courses) and CET Optics (Child Safeguarding for Opticians) and each represents 3 hours of verifiable CPD.
Please Note: Neither Ofsted, nor CQC regard training courses in child protection and safeguarding children or in safeguarding vulnerable adults (now termed adults at risk) to be sufficient on their own. All organisations working with adults at risk and/or children and young people also require adult safeguarding policies and adult safeguarding procedures and/or child safeguarding policies and child protection procedures to be in place and up to date. All references and information required for organisations to create their own is available here on our website. We also offer proforma policies and procedures (updated when appropriate) free with SAFE Membership which can save many hours of work.
